By using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
1. About this website
This website is operated by Azaria Thornhill, doing business as Azaria Thornhill Therapy. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), practicing in Ontario, Canada. You can verify my registration on the CRPO Public Register at crpo.ca. The site provides information about my services and a way to contact me or request a consultation.
2. Not therapy or emergency support
Content on this website, including any blog posts, newsletters, or social media content linked from it, is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not therapy, diagnosis, or individualized professional advice, and reading it does not create a therapeutic relationship.
This website is not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis or at risk of harming yourself or others, call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or call or text 988 (Suicide Crisis Helpline, available in Canada 24/7).
3. No therapeutic relationship through the site
A therapeutic relationship begins only after we have completed an initial consultation, you have received and agreed to my informed consent documents, and I have confirmed that I’m able to offer you services. Sending a message through the website or booking a consultation does not guarantee that I will take you on as a client.
4. Contacting me and confidentiality
Please don’t include sensitive personal or health information in website forms, emails, or social media messages. Standard email and web forms are not fully secure, and I can’t guarantee confidentiality of information sent this way.
My handling of personal information is described in my Privacy Policy.
5. Booking, fees, and cancellations
Session fees, payment methods, and cancellation or late-cancellation terms are set out in my Client Agreement and Informed Consent forms and apply to all clients. If anything on this website conflicts with that document, the Client Agreement takes priority. Psychotherapy services are HST-exempt.
6. Intellectual property
All content on this site, including text, graphics, logos, images, and downloadable resources, is owned by Azaria Thornhill or used with permission, and is protected by Canadian copyright law. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or sell it without my written permission. Brief quotations with clear credit and a link back to the site are welcome.
7. Resources and third-party links
This site may link to external websites, resources, or platforms (e.g., booking tools, Substack, Instagram). I don’t control these and am not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. A link is not an endorsement.
8. Testimonials and reviews
In line with professional ethical standards, I do not solicit or publish client testimonials.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this website to: break any law; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems; introduce viruses or harmful code; or send spam, harassing, or misleading messages.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
This website and its content are provided “as is.” I make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current, but I can’t guarantee it is complete, error-free, or suitable for your circumstances. Use of the site is at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or from reliance on its content. This doesn’t limit any liability that cannot be excluded by law, or any obligations I have to clients under my professional regulatory standards.
12. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Ontario.
